Children and Parents: Media Use and Attitudes Report 2019

What is it?

This annual report from Ofcom examines children’s media literacy, providing evidence on media use, attitudes and understanding among children and young people aged 5-15.

It also includes findings related to:

  • How young children aged 3-4 access and use media.
  • Parents’ views about their children’s media use, and the ways that parents seek – or decide not – to monitor or limit use of different types of media. 

Issues covered within the report include:

  • Time spent online by children 
  • Social media and online gaming
  • Children's attitudes and concerns
