Revised definition for CSE - Scotland

The Scottish Government has revised the definition of child sexual exploitation for Scotland.  This is one of the actions that has been taken forward as set out in Scotland’s National Action Plan to Prevent and Tackle Child Sexual Exploitation, and developed as part of a commitment to improve the early identification of,  and effective response to, those who may be at risk of or victims of child sexual exploitation.

Who doesn’t know a teenager who loves chatting online? For young people today, the internet has opened up a world of opportunities to chat and game with people from all over the world, to ‘friend’ someone through a click of a button, and share intimate details about themselves with someone they have never met before. 

Do you work with teenagers who love chatting online? Of course you do - but do they really know who they’re talking to?

Is virtual reality the next social network?

Do you know young people who are huge gaming fans? If so, they probably can’t wait to try out their favourite games in virtual reality (VR). But VR is planning to expand well beyond traditional gaming. This year will see the release of VR headsets from Oculus Rift, HTC and Playstation. The Oculus Rift is owned by Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg has his eyes set on making VR a social technology. Could it be the next major social network?
