This is a message that all professionals working with vulnerable children and adults will know all too well. Ensuring that children and young people receive all of the care support they need can be a challenge; particularly with multi-agency involvement.

Dealing with the aftermath when a child or young person has been sexually abused is a complex task. Forensic medical examination is just one of the processes children and young people may have to go through during this time. Having a team of skilled, knowledgeable and empathic professionals to work across agencies with children, young people and their families is of paramount importance.

This conference draws on the knowledge and expertise of professionals from across health care, social care, law enforcement and beyond to give an insight into the forensic medical examination process from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
