Mobiles
Mobiles are a great way to stay in touch, but phones have loads of other functions.
Chatting, texting, online access, picture, video messaging, and sharing stuff for free through bluetooth are all really cool ways of using mobiles. You can even access your social networking site like BEBO or Myspace.
Check out our “new stuff” section which shares some of the latest new developments in mobile technology – including info on watching live TV on your phone…
New stuff?
There’s a new service which will broadcast five TV channels and 350 radio stations to your mobile. It uses the same kind of technology as a digital radio, and you should be able to get it on your handset soon.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting a story about a company that claims to have developed a paint that can block mobile phone communications like calls and texts! The paint, could be linked to a radio filtering device that could be turned on or off to allow calls at one moment, and then block them a moment later. Who wants to bet that this could become popular with schools and cinemas?!*
More?
A trojan (a malicious and horrid application that pretends to be legitimate software) has been discovered in the wild that can affect applications and games on PDAs, smartphones, and many normal mobiles.
There is a trojan that claims to allow users to access WAP sites without a connection through their network operator, but instead installs code on the users phone to send text messages to premium-rate services costing loads of money!
At the moment this only happening on mobiles in Russia, but versions that work in other parts of the world may not be far away – so be careful with mobile spam – don’t believe it, reply to it or use it.
